You know, I read the preview for SSM and my jaw dropped as well.
You'll have to fill me in on what's going on with that book, because all we get is Amazing.
It definately piqued my interest!!!

SSM started with a pretty good Venom arc, great Doc Ock arc, average Lizard arc, one of the crappiest arcs I've ever read (not in the mood to go over its crappiness), a sincle ish on the Kingpin playing poker with Spidey and several other heroes (even though Kingy is still in jail) and this coming issue is suppossed to start a spin of from the Sin arc in AMZ where Spidey and Sarah go to Paris to further investigate Sarah's birth, childhood, etc. and dark secrets of Osborn. #25 should take place during that spin off arc. Hm...Spidey is hanging out with the daughter of his first true love that holds so many likenesses to her, they're in Paris (of all places), alone, MJ's back in the U.S., the cover of #25 shows them kissing, what could POSSIBLY happen?!?

Yeah, I could see where that might be a bit hokey.
It's all a little too "Set up"

Besides, in reading ASM, isn't Peter completely devoted to making it work with MJ this time???
Sure does seem like it.

Okay, a few months ago, had you asked me if Peter was capable of cheating on MJ, I would have immediately replied no. It's completely ooc for him. Not that he hasn't been tempted (Black Cat, Gwen's clone, etc.) but he's never acted on such temptations. However, a few months ago, had you asked me if Gwen would have had an affair with Norman, I would have also replied no and back it up as well. Yet, as we all know, Gwen did have an affair with Norman, which sadly leaves Peter open to do the same thing. While the character of Peter would never betray MJ, his actions are at the mercy of the writers, who have the power to make him do as they please. So while it's ooc for Peter to have an affair, it may not be ooc for the writers to make him do so. We'll just have to wait and see.

By the way, did you read to summary for Ultimate Spidey?
It almost sounds like Harry is Hobby. Hm...interesting.
As always...can't wait!!!
