Space At New York Comic Con Is Already At A Premium!
#1

Official Press Release

Norwalk, CT: With still months to go before the next New York Comic Con (it's scheduled for the Jacob K. Javits Center, February 23 rd – 25 th ), the convention is practically sold out. Even with twice as much space booked at the Javits Center for 2007, the dealer/retailer space is reserved to current capacity and the rest of the exhibit is 90% sold. A waiting list has already been formed and convention organizers are trying to secure additional space above the current increase. There is no word from Javits whether this will be possible for 2007.

Meanwhile, the convention has just hired an outside consultant who will work year-round to oversee all programming for New York Comic Con. He will be responsible for all of the entertainment highlights, of which there are many, as well as some of the educational panels. Last year ('06) New York Comic Con had 165 individual panels. “The best ideas for our panels come from our customers,” notes Greg Topalian, VP for New York Comic Con. “We will be depending on their feedback and their valuable suggestions for our many programs over the next few months.”

The contact for programming ideas for New York Comic Con is Mark Dressler. He may be reached at mdressler@nycomiccon.com or by phone at 231-932-0475.

Some of the companies already contracted to participate in New York Comic Con in 2007 include: ADV Films, Diamond Comic Distributors, Dark Horse, DC Comics, 4 Kids Entertainment, Fox Atomic, Funimation, Konami, The Level 5 Group, Lions Gate, Marvel Entertainment, SLG Publishing, TokyoPop, UGO, Viz Media, Wizards of the Coast, and WizKids.

The complete exhibitor list for 2007 can be found online at www.nycomiccon.com .
