We are aware that when you post, you are getting a "Debug error" right now. Your posts are going through, but it's just a minor annoyance until we can get it repaired (ie, in the morning US time whereas our Tech is probably in bed at this time...at least he better be!)
Please accept our apologizes for this minor inconvience.

Ryan Reynolds Debunks Deadpool Rumors |

Excerpt from Superherohype.com article about Blade Trinity
He also debunked some of the rumors of him playing Marvel's mirthful mutant Deadpool. "Inspired by Hannibal King, Avi Arad really wanted me to play Deadpool, and I just don't think that anyone has an idea how to bring it to the screen. It's a really difficult comic book to adapt, and I've read them all. He's just so similar to Hannibal King. That was the worry I had, so I think that's one of the reasons it just faded away. It's definitely a tough role to cast, because he has to look like a badass, but he's the 'merc with a mouth'. [Because of the mask and the make-up], you wouldn't even know it's me anyway. Dan Aykroyd could do it!"
Personally, I think Reynolds would do a good job on Deadpool. But he's got a point. How do you bring someone that larger than life onto the big screen?

From Superherohype.com
20th Century Fox has set Sheldon Turner (The Longest Yard) to write Magneto, an action-thriller based on the villainous character played in the first two "X-Men" films by Ian McKellen, reports Variety.
The project marks the second extension of the studio's "X-Men" comic book franchise. The move follows a Fox deal with Troy screenwriter David Benioff to write Wolverine, who is played by Hugh Jackman in the films.
The studio is developing the spin-offs as they separately develop X-Men 3. Simon Kinberg is writing the third installment. Magneto will likely be produced by the "X-Men" duo of Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios' Avi Arad.
The original "X-Men" film began with a prologue that showed Magneto as a child being led to a concentration camp by Nazis, and that is the period in which the new film will take place. Since the character will be seen almost exclusively in his formative years, it is not clear whether McKellen will be in the film at all, says the trade.
"I pitched a film that is almost 'The Pianist' meets 'X-Men,' about a guy who, after watching his family slaughtered, has an awakening of his powers and seeks revenge," Turner said.
The storyline will heavily involve Professor X (played by Patrick Stewart in the films). That character was a soldier in the allied force that liberated the concentration camps. The professor meets Magneto after the war, and while they bond over the realization that they are alike in their special powers, their differences soon turn them into enemies.

Whedon wants Wonder Woman? |

From Cinescape.com
According to a scoop report published by Ain't It Cool News, FIREFLY/SERENITY creator Joss Whedon is supposedly in final negotiations with Warner Bros. to write and direct a WONDER WOMAN feature film -- if 20th Century Fox doesn't sign him to direct X-MEN 3, that is. While AICN cautions their readers that the scoop could prove to be a hoax, the scooper states that "this could break in the trades any day."
Is Fox now after The Joss to direct the third X-MEN film? Does Warner Bros. want the creator of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER to bring their Amazonian princess to the silver screen? Stay tuned for more as we know about it!
In semi-related news, there's at least one actress that's currently making it known that she wants to don the golden bracelets in a WONDER WOMAN film. While promoting her latest work in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, actress Minnie Driver told Sci Fi Wire that she would love to play the DC Comics heroine. After all, it's been a childhood dream of Driver's since she watched Lynda Carter in the WONDER WOMAN TV series. "Come on, she's heaven, and she was so sexy," Driver told the site. "Even though I didn't have blue eyes, at a stretch I thought I could possibly grow up to be her, whereas I could never have grown up to be Lindsay Wagner [who played the Bionic Woman]. Do you know what I mean?"

From Cinescape.com
After completing the latest adventure in the BLADE series of films, writer/director David S. Goyer has inked a deal that will see him write, direct and produce a feature film based on DC Comics scarlet speedster, THE FLASH, for Warner Bros.
The news was announced today in the pages of Variety but it was first scooped by Ain't It Cool News last month where a scooper said Goyer was in "the very early stages" of talks. Apparently those talks have been signed, sealed and delivered.
"FLASH is my favorite of the properties," Goyer said to Variety. "I think the character of the Flash, who moves faster than the speed of light, opens itself up to rich cinematic and story ideas."
There's also been rumblings from BLADE: TRINITY actor Ryan Reynolds that he wants to play the Flash. "I just think it's an interesting character, and with today's technology, you could do something that hasn't been done yet in the comic book world," Ryan told the Akron Beacon Journal.
Thoughts?

Stunt Writing = the (bleak) future of the industry? |

After reading Glenn's article on Stunt Writing in the latest issue of Comic Widows, I realized how struck I am by it.
A couple years ago, when I started wondering about the frailty of the comic industry's future, I speculated that if comics kept to nothing but a very weak unpredictable audience dominated by cash-strapped highly critical adults, things would get bigger & uglier as time passes .
Translated, that means if the industry doesn't get a serious increase in it's readership & instead continues to shrink, what do you think comics companies will do to keep the audience they have, & hope perhaps beyond hope they can get a little increase:
More vulgar deaths? CHECK
More characters (yes this includes heroes & good supporting characters) getting sickened emotionally &/or physically? CHECK
More trash talking, including putting in numerous cuss words? CHECK
More less-than-casual displays of characters having sex? CHECK
More general misery than you & most soap operas can shake a stick at? CHECK
And the list goes on. Desperation knows no bounds .
So would you want to give a child any comic that prominently features such sad crap? I didn't think so!
IMHO opinion the best way to get the audience increase I just know the industry dreams of is to get comics back all over the darn place like they were in the early days, before distribution snafus snuffed pretty much all retailers from carrying them (even killing several comic stores).
Every discount, convenience, grocery, etc. store willing to carry comics should have a good stock of them.
And ways should be found to encourage reluctant retailers to join the party!
But if the industry doesn't seek to do this, comics will only continue to grow bigtime ugly because the industry will be blindly fighting their shrinking readership & looking to increase it in the worst ways possible.

The corrupt-a-wish game |

shamelessly ripped off from another mesage board...
it's the corrupt-a-wish game.
someone makes a wish, then you come up with a funny way that that person's wish backfires.
then you wish and then the game continues on endlessly (or for a page or so before everyone gets sick of it).
here's an example....
person #1, "i wish i was immortal."
person #2, "wish granted. you are incapable of dying, and spend the rest of eternity at the center of the sun in incredible agony.
i wish i had a puppy."
I'll get us started.
I wish I could have a life of ease with as much money as I ever needed.

Logan - A Glimpse into the Past: Rise of the Phoinex |

Okay, due to the HUGE hit of my other fanfiction (well, one good reply isn't really huge but it was from Chanty so it works for me) I'm creating another fanfiction based on my other character, Alexander Fisk a.k.a. Logan. Now, I know he hasn't survived the current mission (crosses his fingers) so the fan fiction will not be on what happens after the Watch, but what happened before. Hopefully, I'm going to write several of these for Logan, all title 'A Glimpse into the Past' and then something after it, to tell which particular story in his past I'm writing about. So far, the only hints I've given to Logan's past in the game is his recognition of Victoria's resemblence to Sinister, his recognition of the Phoinex Force, and Jean Grey. All three will have a lot of light shed on them in this fic.
Now, I know Logan's unpopular because he's...well...he's a grade A jerk, but I like him, and hopefully this will give you some insight of why he's how he is. Okay, enough talk. Onto the show.
Title: Logan - A Glimpse into the Past: Rise of the Phoinex
Timeline: Takes places a few years before Logan's joining with the Watch.
Rating: This is PG-13 for language and violence, however, there may be some periods of extended violence.
Disclaimer: None of the characters used or mentioned in this story are owned by me, nor are they being used by me to make a profit. The characters used are alterations of characters from Marvel Comics, who I pray will humor a loyal fan and not sue.
