Things you'd do if....
Posted by: Enchantress - 09-05-2004, 02:38 PM - Forum: The Pub... - Replies (15)

Ok, this is a fun little "what if" game...

So I'll start and if you get bored with my topic, change it.

Things I'd do...."If I won the Lottery."

Be Debt free!

Travel around and visit friends in far off secluded locations...like Scotland.

Go to Egypt and visit Abu Simbel (long story)

Teleporters...we've been without Star Trek technology for far too long.

I'd build a treefort in my yard.

Lol

The Premise
All of the major crime bosses of Gotham City are lured to a secretive meet, unaware that their competition and rivals would also be in attendance. Everything seems to be going smoothly, if not tensely, when all of a sudden all hell breaks loose, leaving several key players dead and a massive power vaccum needing to be filled. A power vaccum that sparks an massive gang war throughout Gotham.
So far I've read a few issues and I have to say....nice. With everything that's been going on in the Bat-family, from the current lack of a Teen Wonder, to Nightwing's trials and tribulations, to Tim Drake having to re-examine what it is he really want to do with his life, throwing the whole of Gotham City into war seems to compliment the turmoil its heros have faced of late. Its almost as if the City itself, which many consider to be a much overlooked character, is also going through its own inner stryfe, changing and redefining itself as many of us often have to do.

From what I've seen and read so far it almost brings to mind the days of No Man's Land, though at the moment it hasn't quite yet come to that point. But the idea of all these different, powerful factions tearing into each other and the city does leave me in a place where I can almost see Batman and Co. locking down the city and bringing back the pain as only they can.

 Trivial Pursuits
Posted by: Enchantress - 08-23-2004, 12:07 PM - Forum: The Pub... - Replies (42)

The Rules are simple...It's very much like the Trivial Pursuit you played at home only modified slightly. Instead of using a board, we'll just ask the questions from the catagory of your chosing. BUT REMEMBER-Keep it simple. We don't want something that's going to stump everyone and no one wants to play.

The Catagories

Geography
The Silver Screen
History
The Written Word (which can include comics)
Sports
Science and Nature

Please don't make every question you ask Comic related. We want even those who don't have that indepth comic knowledge to be able to play.

The first person (which will be me) will ask a question, the person who gets it right will ask the next. No point values on this game. It's just a fun way to pass the time.

The first catagory is... The Silver Screen.

?-What is Stewie's full name on the Family Guy?

 Avatar Press-Lady Death

I'm excited...I'm like a kid in a candy store. Brian Pulido at Avatar, writing Lady Death once again... and continuing the story he started with CrossGen.
I picked up the preview for the new Lady Death Books at Wizard World Chicago and I'm not disappointed at all!
My problem is deciding which Lady D book to pick up! They will be releasing a classic "Chaos" style Lady Death (which I LOVE) or the CrossGen styled Medieval Lady Death which I came to love even more.
Getting to meet Brian and have him sign my books that span my years with Lady Death was great. He's by far the most fan friendly person around!
I know I'm probably the only person around here looking forward to the new book, but I had to share my joy!

Ok, who's reading this?

I'm happy now. Seriously...I've always been the person who wants to see the "Human" side of our superheroes. Even those non human ones.
The first issue was great....but I have to say the issue with Flash was even better.

So come on, spill it!

 Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash
Posted by: The Mighty Thor - 08-19-2004, 03:08 AM - Forum: Moving Pictures... - Replies (3)

As reported by www.cinescape.com

The rumors about FREDDY VS. JASON VS. ASH are true. Today's Hollywood Reporter confirms that New Line Cinema has entered discussions with director Sam Raimi, the fellow who helmed the three EVIL DEAD pictures and who owns the copyright to Ash, the sarcastic hero of the DEAD trilogy. If a deal can be reached, Ash will go up against the two horror slasher icons in the sequel to last summer's FREDDY VS. JASON. In that case, it's expected that Bruce Campbell will strike a deal to play Ash for the fourth time. It's unlikely that Raimi would direct the film; he's got plans to helm SPIDER-MAN 3 (set for release in May 2007), but Raimi would likely take a producing credit on the VERSUS film.

Last seen on-screen in 1993's ARMY OF DARKNESS, Campbell's Ash has remained a popular cult hero amongst the horror fandom. The rumors about Ash being added to the fray first popped up at Creature Corner a year ago this month and were then revisited by Fangoria in October 2003.

Reporter adds a new item by stating that if a deal cannot be worked out with Raimi, New Line will still continue to develop FREDDY VS. JASON 2, possibly by introducing a new antagonist for the two killers to face off against.

 Batman
Posted by: The Mighty Thor - 08-19-2004, 02:40 AM - Forum: The Bat Cave... - Replies (1)

As reported by Wizard #155, the new creative team on Batman is set. Starting with issue #636 the Caped Crusader's self titled book will be written by Judd Winick and drawn by Doug Mahnke.

I love Judd Winick. His writing on Green Arrow month in and month out makes it one of my favorite books. His recent fill in stint on Batman was a great, action packed adventure, with a wonderfully mysterious ending. I'm glad that Judd will be coming back to this book as series regular so he can pick up where his "As the Crow Flies" story left off. And as if Judd Winick wasn't enough, I get Doug Mahnke as well. His art on recent issues of Justice League has left me wanting more. Well, here it is. As if I didn't have enough reasons to love Batman, DC goes and throws two of my favorite creators at me to keep me coming back for more.

Thank you DC, you made my day.

Although we have a varied selection of avatars available to our members there is the slight chance that someone won't be able to find the particular image they would like.

If you would like a particular avatar added to the selection available, simply post a link to the image you would like to have 'avatarised' (is it even a word? it is now!) in this thread and I will endeavour to have it up and about within a couple of days. Don't worry if the image isn't avatar size, as I have a certain amount of expertise in these matters.
