The Code of the Watch |

This is a Comic Book inspired Role Playing Game that is based upon the age old Marvel question... What If? In this game you will control a hero of your choosing, from whichever multiverse you decide. Be it Marvel, DC or any other. The characters, ripped from the very fabric of time and space, will band together as a team, while working under the direction of a man sworn to defend all of reality. Who is this man, you ask? You'll have to play the game to find out.
All you have to do to join The Watch is to send me a Private Message, with your character's biography and a description of his/her abilities. Unlike the other games on Comics Uncovered, I only accept characters that already exist in print, or characters who have a major connection to an existing character. Final approval of any character submitted will be made by me, and me alone.
And one last thing before we get to the rules. Please, be creative. If you want to play Spider-man, try to make him your own in some way. For instance, play a Spider-man who never lost his Uncle Ben. A Spidey who never learned the lesson about the responsibility that comes with power. Maybe he gave up the mask to become a family man...maybe he became the most loved professional wrestler of all time...maybe he is the leader of the Sinister Six. Your character is just waiting to be created...so get to it. I'll be here when you get back.
Game Rules:
1. The Game Master controls the game. I will lead the game through my GM posts, in which I will use what are called Non Player Characters, or NPC's, to move along the story. These are any character in the story that is not controlled by one of the players. No one but myself is allowed to speak or act for an NPC, unless prior authorization is given. However, arguing with the Game Master will not be permitted. The GMâs decisions are final. If you have a question, ask it. That's why I'm here.
2. Do not decide the outcome of an action, that is the GMâs job. For example, if you were to post, "Jake shot Dave in the head," you do not get to decide if Dave dies. The GM will decide if Jakeâs aim was true and if the bullet hit Dave in the head, or if Jake shot himself in the foot.
3. All character posts will be made in the third person perspective. We donât want to see any posts such as... "I ran through the jungleâ (unless your character is describing this to another character.) If that is the case, then this type of speech is fine.
4. Post actions for you character only. Do not post actions for other playerâs characters or NPC's. For example... Your player can grab a teammate and try to get them to go somewhere, but the grabbed character's owner (or the GM) is the only one who can decide to actually go along.
5. No Out Of Character (OOC) posts within the game, EVER. The only exception to this strictly enforced rule would be an "OOC Tagâ at the bottom of a post saying that the post was OKâd by the GM. Any other OOC posts will result in a reprimand from the GM. There is a forum for out of character chat, use it!
6. We would like for these games to be fast paced. A post by each player every few days would be great! If you cannot accomplish this, then please do not petition to join. If you are a player in the games and need some time off, ask for it! The GM will be more than happy to send your character on a âside missionâ until you are ready to return.
7. These are the guidelines for how your posts should be written. We do this to make the flow of the game smoother, and easier for everyone to play along with. Please incorporate these rules within your game play.
Descriptive posts-plain type
Speech - In "Quotes"
Telepathy/Thinking to yourself - In Italics
Flashbacks - Separated using ~~~~~~~ or ---------------
at the beginning and end of each flashback.
8. Remember, it is only a game. Itâs here for amusement and fun.
9. The GM reserves the right to reprimand players for abusing the rules. Chronic abuse of the rules, or complaints to the GM about a player or a player's character will be dealt with accordingly.
10. The GM has final call on all characters submitted for the game. No overly powerful GOD-like characters will be allowed, unless specifically ok'd by the GM. What fun is a God with no weaknesses? If you wish to play a usually massively powered character, find some way to tame him/her. If you need help with this, ask me or any of the other RPG players for help.
11. All characters are considered the intellectual property of their creators. Please ask a player prior to doing anything with their character that could be misconstrued as abuse of this rule.
12. The GM also reserves the right to remove a player from the game if they consistantly abuse the rules, are rude or abusive to other players, if they are MIA, or if they become a chronic nuisance.
13. There is no rule #13.
14. You cannot edit your posts after another player has posted behind you. If you want to edit it for spelling or grammer, that is fine. However, editing actions after another player has already posted is not allowed.
Please ask the GM if you need help.
15. We do not use smilies or emoticons in the game, EVER. Anyone using them will have their post edited and will get a stern lecture from the GM.
16. Eat your broccoli.
Remember, it's only a game, so have fun!

Hi, and welcome to ComicsUncovered.com Comic Forums.
Sometimes volatile, sometimes controversial and always interesting, our boards require a few rules and guidelines to keep things running smoothly and happily for all concerned. Above all, enjoy, discuss and even disagree, but mind your manners.
On the 5th day, Stan the Man created us all in his image. To go forth and spread our Geekdom about the world. We are ALL equal in this task, even those of us who put up the cash to bring this cool website to you. We do not hold ourselves above anyone, and our treatment of all board members will reflect this. On the 6th day, Stan rested, and thus, DC was formed... oh wait, DC came first... scratch that, save it for later.
So, with this in mind, here are your Comics Uncovered Forum Rulesâ¦
1. Donât tug on Supermanâs Cape.
2. Impersonating others.
Choose whatever name you wish for the boards, but under NO circumstances will you intentionally impersonate another poster.
3. Keep profanity to a minimum. These are all-ages message boards and we want to maintain at the VERY WORST a PG-13 level of discourse. Also, under no circumstances should profanity (or even "cleverly" disguised profanity) be used in the subject line of a message or in a user name.
4. No spam.
Spam is defined as any message which does not relate to the topic of the message board or forum, is solely posted to advertise a personal site, a money making scheme, a chain letter, a one word or one line post, or something of that nature. The moderatorâs decision on what is regarded as spam is final.
5. No Pornography.
ComicsUncovered.com is a family-friendly message board. Porn would be any nude or vulgar images or vulgar descriptions of private/intimate actions. Such messages should NEVER be posted and will likely get your ISP banned.
6. No Flames/Insults.
Blatantly insulting behavior is prohibited. This includes insults to both posters and lurkers, including comic creators who are more likely to lurk than post. By all means feel free to critique the work--but not the person. Tempers may run high, but keep all discussions civil, please. "Flame War" participants, regardless of "who started it", will be dealt with severely. Spankings all around!
7. The Infamous Rule #7.
There is no rule #7.
8. Off-Topic Threads.
Off topic discussions will be tolerated to a small degree, but when instructed by one of the moderators to end a thread, you MUST cease and desist. Taking it to e-mail or private message is the best solution.
9. Never take Vicki Vale to the Batcave. You just donât do it!
10. Repeat Offenders.
The moderators reserve the privilege of banning offenders from the boards, temporarily or permanently, without warning. You may be warned or you may not, at the moderators' discretion.
11. Bannings.
Bannings and lesser disciplinary actions should not be discussed on the boards. Those are matters best left to email
between the poster and the moderators. If one has a question about their banning they should e-mail the moderators
for explanations (a form for contacting moderators is located where new messages begin on each board).
If you believe the moderator is not treating you fairly, the managers of ComicUncovered.com can be contacted for their input.
12. Additional Guidelines.
Individual Forums may have additional rules that are to be followed as well.
13. Broken Glass.
Don't eat broken glass! Sheesh! What are ya, nuts??!!
14. Please do not link pictures using [img] that are over 100K use [url] *a link kiddies!* instead.
15. If youâd like to use a banner in your signature, by all means, go ahead, but NOTHING over 400 x 125 for banner size, but with a total file size of 30K. If you are using a picture in your signature, you may have up to 3 lines of text. If you are not using a picture, 4 lines of text only. Breaking these rules will result in signature removal and a raspberry.
16. Spoiler Tags. We have them in place for a reason, please use them on CURRENT information. No need to spoiler something about a comic that came out 15 years ago! Everyone knows Captain America wears boxers, no need to spoiler tag that bit of info!
17. Donât ask Beast for a tour of the Mansion, those fleas are contagious!
18. Bandwidth theft. We donât support it, itâs not fun to pay for something someone steals, and it will be dealt with accordingly. (Bandwidth theft is directly linking something from another site without that sites express permission.) If you want to show something off, post a link, everyone appreciates links more!
Thank you for your cooperation.
Remember, think before you act. It's always funny until someone loses an eye. Then it's a game - find the eye.
If you have any questions, feel free to email ComicsUncovered.com management.

Ok, I gotta admit, get past the corny theme song....*which someone in this house sings every time it comes on, and it isn't me!*
The last seasons episodes were great. I loved seeing Aqua Lad and Speedy and getting Terra as part of the team.
I think my favorite episode last season was Robin's Prom Date from hell.

Yeah, the show has been going on forever now it seems, and everyone has their favorite episodes..
so, which one are yours? Mine would have to be "Cartman gets an Anal Probe" (the first episode), Chickenlover, The 100th episode where they found out earth was a reality show, The Tooth Fairy, The LOTR Spoof, SeaPeople, and recently, the You've Been Served episode. (which is where Thor's Sig line comes from)
yeah I know, my list is huge, but seriously, you guys...seriously...

Ok, how many Insominac with Dave Attell fans are out there? For those of you across the pond.... Insominac is this great show where this comedian goes from big city to big city exploring the nightlife and getting wasted in the process. They show it on Comedy Central.
Thanks to my brother in law...that silver guy with the surf board, I've had my hands on Dave's "Skanks for the memories" CD for some time now. And wow, does that title ring true of a few people I know! LOL
So, tell me, if you've seen it, what's your favorite episode? My personal fav was his New Orleans trip shooting Neutrea with the NOLA PD.

Well I was browsing around quite randomly (as is my wont on occasion) and came across this lovely example of home improvement. Stop by and have a look here: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.geocities.com/jperdziak/spiderweb/page1.html">http://www.geocities.com/jperdziak/spiderweb/page1.html</a><!-- m -->
I'm actually impressed at the planning and execution of the project and the finished result looks great.
Do any of you have similar examples of where your comic obsession has spilled over into your home or life?

Source Comics Continuum
Sean McKeever, writer of Marvel's new Mary Jane series, told The Continuum that the book is a "straight teen drama."
"There's bit of Spider-Man in here and there, but it really is a straight-forward teen drama," McKeever said. "It's not a super-hero comic. It's not a science-fiction comic."
The new monthly series, which debuts on June 12, features the characters in their high school years, after Peter Parker becomes Spider-Man.
"It's set in high school, sort of its own continuity, where Mary Jane goes to high school with Flash Thompson and Liz Allen and Harry Osborn and this nerdy kid named Peter Parker," McKeever said. "And they all hang out at the Coffee Bean.
"It's kind of a spin on the old Amazing Spider-Man issues where they were hanging out together, but now it's in high school.
"What's nice about it is I can look at those Amazing books which I read as a kid and get a glimpse of the characters, and I can do my own take on them. I can flush them out in a way that I'd like to and that also respects the characters as they are. It's kind of refreshing to be able to do what I want with a character like Flash Thompson, to make him three-dimensional. I'm sure it's the same kind of pleasure (Brian) Bendis gets with Ultimate Spider-Man."
Mary Jane is part of Marvel's youth movement with its Marvel Age imprint.
"With all-ages books, when you put that all-ages stamp on the book, it's kind of like the kiss of death because people go, 'Oh, it's watered down,'" McKeever said. "But with Mary Jane, it's all ages in that really good sense. Maybe not necessarily in the way with The Simpsons is and all the layers and all that, but it's something I think is very entertaining and light that anybody can enjoy.
"It's a comic that they're marketing to teen girls, but it's a comic book that adults -- men and women -- came read as well. It's got a really broad appeal, I think."
Takeshi Miyazawa is providing the art. "I've been seeing the art, and it's really beautiful stuff," McKeever said.
